Integrations: launch EHR button

How to launch your web-based EHR from your doxy.me call

Updated over a year ago

If you have a web-based EHR application, the person sending the invite to the patient can make is so that when the patient checks in to the provider's room, the provider will be able to launch the patient's profile in your EHR with the click of a button.

To enable this feature, you will need to do the following:

  1. Reach out to Doxy.me and request that we enable "emrUrl" for your doxy.me account.

  2. Provide Doxy.me with your EHR's web link. It will look something like this: https://onlineehr.com/a/apps/companyid/users.

Once things are set up within your doxy.me account, the rest of the steps occur at the time the invite is sent.

  1. Before sending the invite, you will need to obtain the unique patient's identifier (PID) from your EHR. This can be found at the end of the url when viewing that patient's profile: https://onlineehr.com/a/apps/companyid/users/A58gR84S. In this case, the PID would be A58gR84S.

  2. Once you have the PID, you'll want to copy and paste the patient identifier (PID) to the end of the provider's room url. You will also need to include "?pid=" between the room url and the PID. Once you've done these two steps, it should look something like this:

Now, when the patient uses this link to check in, you will see an EHR button. When you click this button, your EHR will open that specific patient's profile.

If you use this feature, you will be able to look up a history of all the telehealth sessions you have had with this patient. To do this, you'll need to use our meeting history API.
