Updated over a month ago

Reduce background noise is available for both providers and patients and can be turned on during any session. Noise suppression happens in real time to help muffle background sounds, but the setting must be enabled manually each session and does not carry over after the call ends.

How to activate noise suppression

Both the provider and the patient can reduce background noise during a session by following these steps:

  1. While in a doxy.me session, open your Self-Preview video.

  2. Click the three dots in the upper left corner to open Call Settings.

  3. Navigate to Reduce Background Noise.

  4. Toggle the switch on to activate noise suppression for your session.

💡 You must turn on noise suppression manually during each session you would like to use it. This setting does not automatically carry over between sessions.

To turn off noise suppression, follow the same steps and toggle the switch off. Call settings menu with mouse over toggle to turn on noise suppression.

Do I need to turn it on every session?

Yes, manually enable noise suppression during each session in which you would like to use it. The setting will not automatically carry over to future sessions.

My voice sounds muffled with noise suppression. Why?

The technology works by filtering out background noise, but it may sometimes have difficulty distinguishing between your voice and surrounding sounds. This can cause slight muffling.
