How to connect your Stripe account

  1. Click connect Stripe account from the pop-out message on the Payment App page

  2. Fill out your relevant business information by following the prompts

  3. Stripe will verify the information provided for the account in compliance with “Know Your Customer” (KYC). There may be different requirements in each country.

  4. Stripe may request further information about their business to enable the account. There may be a delay after submitting for verification.

  5. Once all checks pass with Stripe, your account is ready to use with Payment.

💡 If you used Payment before moving to Doxy.me 2.0, your Stripe details will automatically be added to your new experience. No action required.

Your Stripe account status

There are five account statuses within Stripe:

  1. Restricted - you need to provide more information to enable the account.

  2. Restricted soon - information is currently missing and needs to be added by a specific date. You can use the account but only up until the deadline, at which time it will become Restricted.

  3. In review - your information is being verified by Stripe. You can use the account and should be notified when the status updates.

  4. Enabled - you have completed all of the necessary information and are compliant with Stripe requirements. You can use your account as normal.

  5. Rejected - you cannot use your account because you have provided invalid details, or fraudulent activity is suspected. You should contact Stripe for more information.

💡Doxy.me is not able to alter your Stripe status or support with changing your Account status in Stripe. Reach out directly to Stripe support.

Reconnecting your Stripe account with doxyme

If you unlink your Stripe account from Payment and try to reconnect, a completely new Stripe business account will be created instead of reusing your existing one.

This is a Stripe security feature and there is no way to link back to your original account once unlinked. To avoid issues:

  • Do not disconnect your Stripe account unless absolutely necessary

  • Manage changes in your Stripe dashboard instead

  • If you are unsure, contact Stripe support before disconnecting

Payment settings in doxy․me

Within doxy․me Account Settings you are able to make limited changes:

  1. Set your default currency

  2. Choose to connect or disconnect a Stripe account

  3. Remove the Payment app

For all other settings and account changes you will need to log into your Stripe Dashboard or contact the Stripe support team.
