Navigate the updated call layout
The updated call layout is designed to keep video fully visible while making in-call tools easier to access and less distracting. Controls and participant details now live in their own dedicated areas, so nothing overlaps the video during your session.
Below is a quick walkthrough of what you’ll see and how to use it.
1. Video stays front and center
During your session, video remains fully visible at all times. No controls, panels, or menus sit on top of the video area, helping you stay focused on faces, body language, and connection.
Sidebar: Session participants and the Waiting Room
When a session begins, the Sidebar opens automatically on the left side of the screen.
The Sidebar includes:
In call with
At the top of the Sidebar, you’ll see everyone currently connected to your session.
From here, you can open a Patient Information Card to:
Send and receive chat messages
Confirm camera and microphone setup
View participant details at a glance
Waiting Room
Below the in-call list is the Waiting Room, where patients appear after checking in.
You can:
See who is waiting to join
Message patients while they’re still in the Waiting Room
2. Opening and closing the Sidebar
To close the Sidebar, click the X in the upper-right corner of the panel
To reopen it, click the Sidebar icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen
This lets you create more space whenever you want, without losing access to participant details.
3. The Control Bar: Essential session tools
The Control Bar sits below the video, in its own dedicated space. Here you’ll find familiar controls, including:
Camera and Microphone
Apps
More menu with troubleshooting options
End Call button
These controls are always easy to reach, but designed to stay out of the video area.
4. Session timer location
The session timer now appears in the bottom-left corner of the screen. It’s visible when you need it, while staying unobtrusive so it doesn’t draw attention away from the visit.
