Before you can invite others, you’ll need to create a clinic. If you haven’t set one up yet, you’ll be guided through a short setup before sending invitations.
A clinic is the shared space where your team operates on doxy.me. Providers and staff work under one clinic name while keeping their own logins and Personal Rooms.
Start clinic setup
Go to Settings → Users
Click Invite users
Follow the prompts to create your clinic
Choose your clinic and room details
During setup, you’ll choose:
Setting | What it means |
Clinic name | The name shown to patients and clinic users |
Clinic link | The clinic portion of every provider’s room URL |
Your Personal Room name | The name of your individual room within the clinic |
Your clinic’s room links follow this format:
doxy.me/[clinic-name]/[room-name]
This helps patients recognize your clinic and reach the correct room. The text in square brackets represents your clinic and room details; the brackets are not part of an actual link.
Choose a clinic link that represents your whole team. It will appear in every new Personal Room and Shared Room URL. You can change it later, but you’ll need to share replacement links with patients.
📌 What happens to my existing room link?
If you had a doxy.me room before clinics were introduced, your original link will continue working. Patients who visit it will automatically be redirected to your new clinic-based link.

📌 How do clinic room links work?
Each clinic-based room link has two parts after doxy.me/:
Clinic portion: Identifies your clinic and is shared across its room URLs.
Room portion: Identifies the specific room patients will enter.
doxy.me/[clinic-name]/[room-name]
This format applies to both Personal Rooms and Shared Rooms.
📌 Can I remove the clinic portion?
No. Once you create a clinic to add users, the clinic portion is required for all new room links.
A new room must use doxy.me/[clinic-name]/[room-name], rather than doxy.me/[room-name].
You can rename the clinic portion to better reflect your clinic.
Changing your clinic link
Owners and Admins can change the clinic link in Clinic info.
Changing this updates the clinic portion of every Personal Room and Shared Room URL in your clinic.
For example, renaming your clinic link changes a room’s URL from:
doxy.me/[old-clinic-name]/[room-name]
to:
doxy.me/[new-clinic-name]/[room-name]
💡Important: Previously shared clinic-based links will no longer work after this change. Patients will need the replacement links.
After changing your clinic link
Let your team know their room links have changed
Send patients the new links, including anyone with an upcoming appointment
Update links on your website, in appointment reminders, and anywhere else you share them
📌 Why does my original room have a shorter link?
If you had a doxy.me room before clinics were introduced, your original link may not include a clinic portion:
doxy.me/[original-room-name]
This legacy link continues working and automatically redirects patients to your clinic-based room link. It will also continue working if you rename your clinic link.
New rooms must include the clinic portion and cannot use the same shorter format.
