How to use File Transfer during a session
File Transfer can be launched at any time during a doxy.me appointment.
During an appointment, navigate to the Control bar
Select Apps and choose File Transfer from the menu
Request files from your patient
Once you have launched File Transfer, a modal will appear:
Click Request patient to share files
If you are in a Group Call, you will be asked to select which patient you are requesting files from. You can only select one patient at a time
Your patient will then be prompted to upload files to share with you.
Patients can upload a maximum of 5 files by dragging and dropping them into the modal or by selecting files to share from their device
Once your patient has uploaded their files and clicked Share you will be prompted to download the shared files
Access downloaded files by going to your device’s downloads folder
Send files to your patient
Once you have launched File Transfer, a modal will appear:
Drag and drop the files you want to share, or select from your device
Click Send file(s)
If you are in a Group Call, you will be asked to select which patient you are sending files to. You can only select one patient at a time
Click Share file(s)
Your patient will then be prompted to download the files
You will receive a notification once the patient has successfully clicked to download the files or if they cancel the transfer.
Your patient will be able to access the files from their device’s downloads folder
How to use File Transfer from the Waiting Room:
File Transfer can be launched at any time when there are patients in your Waiting Room.
Click the Apps button on your Sidebar
Select File Transfer
Request files from your patient
Once you have launched File Transfer, a modal will appear:
Click Request patient to share files
If you have multiple patients in your Waiting Room, you will be prompted to select which patient you are requesting files from. You can only select one patient at a time
Your patient will then be prompted to upload files to share with you.
Patients can upload a maximum of 5 files by dragging and dropping them into the modal or by selecting files to share from their device
Once your patient has uploaded their files and clicked Share you will be prompted to download the shared files
Access downloaded files by going to your device’s downloads folder

What file types am I able to send using File Transfer?
File Transfer can support most common file types including: pdf, jpeg, jpg, doc, dox, png, ppt, pptx and xlsx
What is the maximum file size I can transfer?
Both you and your patients are able to upload and share a maximum of 100MB total in any single transfer.
How many files can I transfer at once?
Both you and your patients are able to upload and share a maximum of 5 files at any one time.
How many patients can I transfer to at once?
You can select one patient at a time to send files to or receive files from
