How to make sure your OS is up to date

Sometimes internet browsers stop supporting older versions of operating systems. Your browser needs to be up-to-date to use doxy.me, so you may need to occasionally update your device's operating system.

Remember, you should always check with an IT professional before performing this kind of upgrade to be sure you meet the system requirements for updating.

To update your Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 Operating System:

  1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button in the lower-left corner.

  2. Click the Check for Updates button and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.

To update your macOS:

  1. Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu, then click Software Update to check for updates.

  2. If any updates are available, click Update Now to install them.

To update your iPhone or iPad:

  1. Plug your device into power and connect to the Internet with Wi-Fi.

  2. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.

  3. Tap Download and Install.

  4. To update now, tap Install.

To update your Android device:

  1. Plug your device into power and connect to the Internet with Wi-Fi.

  2. Open your Android's Settings.

  3. Scroll down and tap System.

  4. Tap About Phone/Tablet.

  5. Tap the Update Option.
