Virtually guide patients through digital consent forms, answer questions, and collect signatures with Teleconsent. In a split-screen desktop display, both providers and patients are able to view, input details, digitally sign, and download finalized forms.

How to add Teleconsent

The first time you use Teleconsent on doxy.me, you’ll need to add the app to your account and agree to the Terms of Service.

  1. Begin by signing into your doxy.me account.

  2. On the dashboard, navigate to the Apps button on the Sidebar.

  3. Now, find Teleconsent and click Add to doxy.me.

  4. When adding Teleconsent, you’ll be prompted to accept the Terms of Service.

  5. Once accepted, the app will be available to use during your next appointment.

How to use Teleconsent during a session

Teleconsent can be launched at any time during a doxy.me appointment.

  1. During an appointment, navigate to the Control bar.

  2. Select Apps and choose Teleconsent from the menu.

Sharing forms with your patient using Teleconsent

  1. To start sharing the consent form with your patient, click Start share

  2. You and your patient can work through the form together or independently

  3. Once all required fields are complete and the form is signed, click Generate PDF

  4. Both you and your patient will be prompted to download the form and save to your device

  5. Click Close Teleconsent to return to your appointment

💡 To preview a form before sharing with your patient, click Preview (the button that looks like an eye)

Highlighting key focus areas for your patient

Once you are sharing Teleconsent with your patient, you can draw their attention to certain parts of the document.

Add emphasis to important details by selecting the text and clicking Highlight for patient. The text you’ve selected will now appear in yellow for your patient.

To guide your patient’s attention to a specific part of the form to fill out, click within that section and choose Bring patient to section. Your patient’s screen will be directed to your selected area.

Available Teleconsent forms

Four essential forms are included to streamline your patient consent process during telehealth appointments.

Telehealth Appointment Consent Form: Use this form to get a patient's consent to receive care using telehealth

Authorization for Release of Health Information: Use this form to obtain patient consent to share their personal health information with another party

Acknowledgement of Receipt of Privacy Practices Notice: Use this form to confirm that your patient has received a copy of your privacy policies

Consent to a Specified Document: Use this form to document that a patient has reviewed and agreed to a specific document

Understand the patient’s Teleconsent experience

The patient’s Teleconsent experience is similar to yours with a desktop split view. When a form is shared, it will be displayed on the left side of their screen, while their video call will appear on the right side.

💡 Each field is designated for either the patient or the provider, allowing you to fill out only the fields assigned to you.

Patients can scroll through the consent form at their own pace.

💡 Regularly check in with your patient during the document review process to confirm you're both on the same page and section of the form.
