How to add Scribe to doxy.me

The first time you use Scribe in doxy.me, you’ll need to add the app to your account and agree to the Terms of Service.

  1. Begin by signing into your doxy.me account

  2. On the dashboard, navigate to the Apps button on the Sidebar

  3. Now, find Scribe and click Add to doxy.me

  4. When adding Scribe, you’ll be prompted to accept the Terms of Service

  5. Once accepted, the app will be available to use during your next appointment

How to launch Scribe during a session

Scribe can be launched at any time during a doxy.me appointment.

  1. During an appointment, navigate to the Control bar

  2. Select Apps and choose Scribe from the menu

  3. Click Start Scribe

💡 To finish your appointment and receive your note, use the red end call button on your Control Bar. Do not close the tab or window you are working in.

How to download your Note from Scribe

Your SOAP or DAP note will be available after your session ends, in the tab where your session took place. It may take up to a minute to generate.

  1. Use the red end call button on your Control Bar to finish your appointment

Important note: Do not end the call by closing the tab or using the cross in the corner of your window.

  2. Your note will be generated in the same tab where your appointment took place.

  3. You will be able to download the note on that tab from your end call screen, or your dashboard.

  4. Your download will be available for 90 minutes, after which time the note will be automatically deleted for compliance purposes.

💡 If Spanish or French language has been detected during your session, your note will automatically be generated in that language.

Scribe Settings

Manage your Scribe preferences anytime in App Settings, including enabling options like auto-start.

  1. Click on your icon in the bottom left hand corner

  2. Select Settings

  3. Go to the Apps tab

  4. Click Scribe

In Settings, you can choose to:

  • Automatically start Scribe at the beginning of each session

  • Generate a transcript by default

  • Select your default note type (SOAP, DAP, or both)

  • Choose your preferred term in summaries (“patient” or “client”)

💡 Manual or auto-starting Scribe applies a limit of 40 notes per user per day. If you run out, auto-start will pause and resume the next day.

💡 If both SOAP and DAP are enabled but only one note remains, only a DAP note will be generated.

Understand the patient’s Scribe experience

Your patient will be notified once you have launched Scribe, and a notification will remain on their screen as long as Scribe is running. Your patient will not receive a copy of the transcript or note after the call ends.

💡 Use our Patient Guide to help explain Scribe and answer any questions.

FAQs

How does Scribe summarize notes in other languages?

Scribe will generate a session summary in English, French and Spanish depending on the language detected during a session.

Scribe analyzes the conversation and produces structured notes (such as SOAP or DAP) in the dominant language spoken during the session.

The quality and accuracy of summaries may vary depending on factors like audio clarity, accents, and the complexity of the conversation. As Scribe is continuously improving, support for additional languages and accuracy will evolve over time.

What should I do if the Scribe feature is not visible after enabling it?

If the Scribe feature is not visible after enabling it, try logging out of your doxy.me account and logging back in. This refreshes your account and updates the features. If the issue persists, double-check that the Scribe app has been added to your account, or contact doxy.me support for further assistance.

Will Scribe work in conjunction with all other doxy.me Apps?

Yes - you can launch any other App during your session as you usually would. However, please know that Scribe will only summarize your session audio - it won’t have access to what’s on your or your patient’s screens.

Note, Scribe is not currently recommended for use with Interpreter.

How, where, and for how long will my data be stored?

For compliance reasons, your data will be temporarily encrypted and cached on our secure servers for 90 minutes. After 90 minutes, all data is permanently deleted. Your data will not be used to train our models, and nor will we ever sell your data to third parties.

What device or browser limitations are there to using Scribe?

Scribe can be used with any device or browser that you would usually use for doxy.me telemedicine sessions, up to a maximum of 40 notes per day. For optimal performance, ensure you are using the latest version of your browser.

How do I download the zip file containing both Note and transcript?

If you check the box to also download a transcript, you will receive both documents together in a zip file at the end of your session. If you are unsure how to use zip files, please refer to this documentation for Mac and this documentation for Windows.
