Frequently Asked Questions
Does doxy.me store the closed captions or any PII?
No, doxy.me generates captions in real time and does not store them. Once a session ends, all caption data is permanently removed.
Can I access closed captions after the call?
No. Since doxy.me does not store session captions, they cannot be accessed once the call ends. If you’d like a transcript of your session, please use the Doxy.me Scribe app that’s available to Pro users.
Can I use Closed Captions on Group Calls?
Yes, each participant’s name will appear above their spoken text in the Closed Captions modal, helping to distinguish who said what during the session.
Can I copy the Closed Captions?
Yes. Highlight the text you’d like to copy by selecting it. Then right-click and choose Copy.
If you’re using a touch device, select the words you want to copy and tap to bring up the Copy option. You can then paste the text into a document, your EHR, or another program.
The Closed Captions modal is showing "Waiting for captions." Why?
This message appears if you or your session participants haven’t spoken with your microphones turned on. Please check that you and your participants have active microphones and that they are not muted.
Can I resize the Closed Captions modal or drag it to another location on my screen?
Not at this time. However, this is something the doxy.me team is considering for future versions of Closed Captions.
What languages does Closed Captions support?
At this time, English is the only language available. More will be added in future versions.
