For patients: Troubleshooting guide

How to fix your camera, microphone, speakers, and connection to have a smooth doxy.me session

You don’t need a doxy.me account to join your visit - simply click your provider’s link to start your session.

Basic tips for a great call

  1. Find a stable internet connection: Use a wired Ethernet connection or stay close to the Wi-Fi router

  2. Choose a quiet, well-lit space: Think minimal distractions and face a light source

  3. Close unnecessary applications: Free up system resources by exiting apps and tabs you don't need open

  4. Pick a supported browser: Use the latest version of browsers like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari that work well with doxy.me

  5. Use a supported device: Most phones, tablets, and computers support doxy.me. eReaders like Kindle and smart speakers like Alexa do not.

  6. Keep your device up to date: Install the latest operating system (Windows, macOS, iOS, or Android) when prompted

  7. Give doxy.me access to your camera and microphone: Click Grant access to camera and mic when asked

Tips for a stronger internet connection

  • Charge your device's battery: Plug in your device to turn off power-saving mode (it can reduce performance)

  • Disconnect other devices: Ask others in your household to disconnect their devices (TVs, computers, smart devices) to free up bandwidth

  • Try another network: Switching from cellular data to Wi-Fi and moving off of restricted networks like schools and offices can improve connection quality

  • Call your ISP: Make sure your internet service provider (ISP) isn't reducing your connection speeds
