A Personal Room is your individual doxy.me room. Every user has their own Personal Room, and it’s where you can conduct virtual visits with patients.

What is a Personal Room?
A Personal Room belongs to one provider and is your dedicated, always-available space for seeing patients.
For solo providers, it acts as a simple, consistent place to run every visit
For those in a multi-user clinic, a Personal Room gives each provider their own private space while still fitting into the broader clinic setup
It includes:
Your unique check-in link
Your own session history
Only you can start visits from your Personal Room.
Patients join your visit by opening your room link (for example, doxy.me/clinicname/yourname) and checking in.
How to use your Personal Room
Share your room link
Send your Personal Room link to your patient by:
Copying and pasting your link from the Dashboard
Using Invite Via on paid plans
Patients do not need to download anything. When they click the link, it opens a browser window where they can check-in to your Waiting Room.
Start your visit
Log in to your doxy.me account
Click Start video call next to the patient you’d like to meet with
All roles (Owner, Admin, and Member) can start and conduct sessions from their own Personal Room.
Personal Room session history
Each Personal Room keeps its own session history.
Activity in your Personal Room does not mix with:
Other users’ Personal Rooms
Shared Rooms (Premium)
If a user is deleted, their Personal Room and its associated history are permanently removed.
Using Transfer from a Personal Room | Paid plans
Transfer helps you move patients to another provider or room without sending a new link or asking them to check in again.

Adding other users to Personal Rooms | Paid plans
Free and Premium users can take Personal Rooms a step further by adding other users to their Personal Rooms. This is common if you’re a provider and have staff who need to interact with the patient before or after you meet with them. Adding others to your Personal Room is optional.
Users can invite up to two other users to join their Personal Room.
Customize your Waiting Room | Paid plans
Elevate your check-in experience with a professional look that reflects your practice, welcomes patients, and makes every visit feel personalized. If your clinic has custom branding enabled, your clinic logo will appear during patient check-in.
How Shared Rooms and Personal Rooms work together | Premium
Personal Rooms and Shared Rooms are separate spaces, but they can be connected using Transfer. Patients can move between Shared and Personal Rooms without leaving their visit. Both room types use your clinic link structure and provide the same patient check-in experience.
